Domain Name Service (DNS) provides high-availability, scalable authoritative domain name resolution and management services. It translates domain names into IP addresses required for network connections to route end users to the desired applications.

Signing Up for Huawei Cloud

Open the Huawei Cloud official website and create an account.

Creating a Public Zone

Ensure that you have purchased a domain name. If you do not have a domain name, the configured DNS record sets will not take effect.

Adding Record Sets

Add record sets to the created public zone.

Configuring Private DNS for Cloud Servers

Create a private zone for each cloud server in a VPC. If a cloud server ever fails, you only need to change the record sets of the private zones to direct traffic to a normal cloud server. There is no need to interrupt services or publish the website again.

Setting CAA Records to Prevent CAs from Issuing Unauthorized HTTPS Certificate

Adding CAA records for website domain names enables you to configure a CA whitelist. Only authorized CAs can issue certificates for your website.
