HUAWEI CLOUD International Invites You to Upgrade Your Account as of December 25, 2021

Dear customer,

Good news! We're upgrading your HUAWEI CLOUD account to a HUAWEI ID. Here are how it benefits you and what to know about the process.

1. Why upgrade?

Your HUAWEI ID is a single identity that you can use to access all Huawei services: HUAWEI CLOUD, HUAWEI Developers, HUAWEI AppGallery, HUAWEI Store, and HUAWEI Devices (such as smartphones and tablets). Your account is protected with MFA when you log in with another browser or change your password. Your cloud assets are secure if you ever need to freeze your account. This account upgrade will not affect the use of your existing cloud resources. Learn more about HUAWEI ID.

2. How do I upgrade?

(1) Before the upgrade

Once notified by SMS or email, log in to HUAWEI CLOUD and upgrade your account by following the on-screen instructions. Or click Update Later.

Check if there are application operations you need your HUAWEI CLOUD account and password for, such as obtaining a token. If yes, modify your applications:

(a) Create an IAM user, grant it the required permissions, and use the username and password to obtain a token.

(b) Change the authentication mode to AK/SK. Learn more about authentication.

(2) During the upgrade

(a) If you are new to HUAWEI ID and have never registered one using your mobile number or email address, perform the upgrade as prompted on-screen. If the name currently displayed for your HUAWEI ID has already been taken, set a new login ID. Your original HUAWEI CLOUD account information will synchronize to this HUAWEI ID.

(b) If you have an existing HUAWEI ID, enter the ID password and the SMS or email verification code to verify your identity. If you have multiple HUAWEI IDs, select the one you use most often.

If you have existing HUAWEI IDs but prefer to have a new one dedicated to accessing HUAWEI CLOUD services, upgrade without changing your mobile number, password, and real-name authentication information. The orders, balance, and cloud resources in your original HUAWEI CLOUD account will synchronize to this HUAWEI ID. If the name currently displayed for your HUAWEI ID has already been taken, set a new login ID.

(3) After the upgrade

Remember your HUAWEI ID information and use it to log in to HUAWEI CLOUD.

If you haven't associated your HUAWEI ID with an email address, add an address to make login more convenient for you.
