Huawei Cloud Surges with Fivefold Growth in Mexico Since 2022

[Mexico City, Mexico,15th November, 2024] Huawei Cloud continues to solidify its commitment to Mexico's digital economy, having invested over 1.3 billion pesos in cloud data centers since 2019. Looking ahead, Huawei Cloud is set to ramp up its investment for a long-term strategy to expand its infrastructure and support local innovation.

As the fastest-growing cloud provider in Mexico, Huawei Cloud has introduced more than 100 cloud services to serve over 1,000 customers. Those include the latest version of its flagship product, Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5, which offers advanced AI-powered big data and database management solutions tailored for the Mexican market. These cutting-edge offerings provide secure, efficient, and scalable options for businesses looking to thrive in today's digital landscape.

At the summit, Pablo Madinaveitia, CTO of Libertad Servicios Financieros, shared his perspectives on crafting a more stable financial solution for users in a digital way, meanwhile Alfredo Portillo from China's Chang'an Motors, Mexico elaborated how the carmaker built their digital marketing and sales systems on Huawei Cloud to serve more customers with higher efficiency.
Huawei Cloud's commitment to continuous innovation is highlighted by the recent launch of the first local Hyperscale Cloud in Mexico. This infrastructure includes three Availability Zones and Tier 3+ data centers, offering the lowest latency in the market — 25 ms across Mexico and 50 ms to North America and the Caribbean — with a flawless record of zero incidents over the past five years.
In addition to infrastructure, Huawei Cloud is focused on ecosystem and talent development. By partnering with over 300 local companies and bringing 20 Chinese ecosystem partners to Mexico, Huawei Cloud is fostering a global knowledge exchange. Through its AI Thousand Talent Plan, developed with Infotec, Huawei Cloud aims to train over 1,000 AI developers and build a robust talent pipeline for the local ecosystem. Collaborations with more than 30 universities have led to 10 specialized courses, benefiting thousands of developers across Mexico.

At this summit, Huawei Cloud also addressed its social responsibility for Mexico. Cesar Humberto Funes Garay, VP of Huawei Public Relations Latam, shed light on Huawei's "Cloud for Good" initiative. He shared examples of how cloud and AI technologies are being used to trace jaguars and protect rainforest species in Mexico's Dzilam State Reserve, predict extreme weather conditions through the Pangu weather model, and foster local talent in Mexico. Funes Garay emphasized the positive impact of these innovative technologies on our daily lives and production. Huawei Cloud will continue to collaborate with customers and partners in Mexico to create more value in areas such as the environment, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
