Huawei Cloud Launches the Indonesia Region — Building the Cloud Foundation for a Digital Indonesia

The launch event was joined by Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Indonesia; Hinsa Siburian, Chief of the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN); Lu Kang, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia; Deng Xijun, Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN; Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China; Dr. Ir. According to Mr Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the new Huawei cloud local data center would provide a platform for the development of local digital ecosystem and accelerate digital economy growth. This is an important strategy to attain the national vision of the Golden Indonesia in 2045.

According to Lu Kang, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Huawei is one of the top Chinese high-tech companies. Huawei Cloud Data Center is believed to be one of the pillars of Indonesia’s digital economy. It will support Indonesia’s “Making Indonesia 4.0” strategy, and help more medium, small and micro enterprises in Indonesia to make digital transformation.
Jacky Chen, CEO of Huawei Indonesia, said that the Indonesia Region is a regional hub of KooVerse, Huawei Cloud's global infrastructure of storage, compute, and network resources. Core areas covered by this Region will enjoy a low latency of less than 20 ms. This localized cloud foundation also comes with a dual-active, 99.99% highly available disaster recovery (DR) architecture to turbocharge industry innovation and upgrade.

The Indonesia Region is a regional hub of Huawei Cloud's 29 global availability zones (AZs). Local top carriers are directly connected for one-hop cloud access within 20 ms in major Indonesian cities. This ensures a premium user experience with real-time multimedia, online gaming, and e-commerce livestreaming.
This Region has obtained Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) level-6 certification. The brand-new 3AZ dual-active DR architecture supports workload switchover in minutes, ensuring 99.99% high availability (HA), zero data loss, and service continuity.
Technology as a Service: Dive into industries, dive into digital
Huawei is devoted to bringing cloud native, AI, and big data to Indonesia, and will work with customers and partners to unleash digital productivity and accelerate digitalization.
In the e-Government field, Huawei Cloud is working with Indonesia to build a national AI marine platform for digital and sustainable fisheries for 2 million Indonesian fishers.
In the finance sector, Huawei Cloud helped Bank Neo Commerce develop the ubiquitous neobank application, enabling tens of millions of users to enjoy a streamlined online financial service.
In the media industry, detik Network joined hands with Huawei Cloud to provide a premium livestreaming platform for 200 million users nationwide. During MotoGP, this platform delivered a full-throttle viewing experience to 700,000 viewers at the same time.
In the logistics field, Huawei Cloud is helping J&T Express build a global logistics service network, providing efficient pre-sales support and 24/7 emergency services for more than 600 million customers.

· Pledge USD300 million in the coming 5 years to upgrade local cloud infrastructure.
· Work with 1,000 Indonesian partners to develop localized solutions for shared technology and success.
