Embracing the Cloud to Unleash Digital Productivity

Recent years have seen more government organizations and enterprises worldwide adopt digitalization to tackle challenges amid economic uncertainties. Statistics show that the global digital economy grew by more than 15% in 2021. Cloud computing, the infrastructure of the digital economy, is also on the fast track. According to Gartner, global public cloud spending will increase by more than 20% in 2022, and is expected to amount to nearly USD600 billion in 2023.

"Embracing the cloud is the key to unleashing digital productivity, and cloud native is an approach essential to digital transformation," Ms. Shi stressed. "Digitalization would be impossible without cloud native. Cloud native is the best way for enterprises to embrace agile application modernization."

Years of intensive R&D investment make Huawei Cloud a constant leader in cloud native. As the only founding member of Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) from Asia, Huawei contributed KubeEdge, CNCF's first intelligent edge computing project, and Volcano, CNCF's first batch computing project.

Ms. Shi indicated that Huawei Cloud builds full-stack cloud native and provides Everything as a Service with a cloud native mindset: Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service.

Infrastructure as a Service: To better serve local customers, Huawei Cloud has launched 92 cloud services in the Middle East. Huawei Cloud will also build a new Region in Saudi Arabia and keep building one global network for secure, stable, and low-latency cloud services in the Middle East and Africa.

Technology as a Service: Huawei Cloud builds four pipelines: DevCloud for software development, DataArts for data governance, ModelArts for AI development, and MetaStudio for digital content production. These four pipelines provide futureproof technologies for a faster, easier cloud journey of organizations.

Expertise as a Service: Huawei Cloud has been working with industries worldwide to promote innovation and digital transformation for decades. Now the acquired expertise is integrated into APIs that are open to developers on MacroVerse aPaaS. In doing so, developers no longer need to reinvent the wheel and can focus on scenario-specific innovation.

With a focus on Everything as a Service, Huawei Cloud unveiled the "Go Cloud, Go Global" ecosystem plan. According to this plan, Huawei Cloud will share its localized experience acquired in the services for more than 170 countries and regions, as well as insight into businesses and industries in major regions, and contribute its technologies and solutions to a global ecosystem. Such effort will help more tech companies use cloud better and go global more successfully.

Growing with Partners in a Vibrant Cloud Ecosystem

Market demands are increasingly diversified in this digital and intelligent world. It has become a consensus in the industry that collaboration is the key to building a digital ecosystem to facilitate the business innovation of customers. During the summit, Ms. Shi, on behalf of Huawei Cloud, signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with seven partners from the Middle East and Africa, including Omantel, Abacus & Orient Group, Ignite, Systems Limited & PMEX, OZI Technology, Oengo, and KlayyTech.
