With the rapid growth of HUAWEI CLOUD services, cloud resources need to be managed in a more refined manner to continuously improve resource utilization and service quality. To adapt to this trend, the Algorithm Innovation Lab has set up an algorithm team for ultimate resource efficiency, focusing on resource planning and scheduling algorithms for all domains (cross-device edge clouds), all infrastructure services, and all lifecycles of basic services. Continuously improve the utilization and quality of basic resources in scenarios such as VMs, containers and tasks, physical and virtual networks, and storage. Problems such as dynamic packing, optimal packing, life cycle prediction, resource profiling, and sequence prediction abstracted from actual scenarios are challenging.

1. Take charge of research on Huawei cloud resource management and scheduling, improve existing or innovative algorithms to solve optimization problems in real-world scenarios, including but not limited to VM scheduling, container scheduling, edge scheduling, cloud-edge collaboration scheduling, long- and short-term task scheduling, and hybrid scheduling. Continuously improve resource allocation and utilization.
2. Have an in-depth understanding of cloud computing services, abstract the theoretical problems of core scenarios related to resource management and scheduling, and be able to propose innovative solutions.

1. Operational Research (combination optimization, continuous optimization, scheduling, sequencing, dynamic programming, stochastic optimization, etc.) Ph.D. in machine learning (reinforcement learning, deep learning, Q-learning, etc.), statistics (series analysis and prediction, association analysis, etc.), computational mathematics, and other related backgrounds, such as mathematics, computing, and industrial engineering, and has published relevant patents and top academic journals or conference papers. How to improve resource utilization and user experience becomes the key to HUAWEI CLOUD's competitiveness. With the rapid growth of HUAWEI CLOUD video services, traditional video codecs cannot meet service requirements in terms of encoding bit rates and computing power consumption. The video encoding algorithm team of Huawei Cloud Algorithm Innovation Lab focuses on the research of video encoding algorithms and uses AI technologies to reduce the video encoding bit rate and computing power consumption in real cloud video service scenarios (such as video conferencing, distance education, and live broadcast).

1. Take charge of the R&D of HUAWEI CLOUD video encoding algorithm. Research low-bit-rate and low-power video encoding and decoding algorithms while ensuring user visual experience.
2. Research lightweight AI algorithms such as supercomposition, superframe, and GAN that can be implemented on the terminal side, and combine them with video encoding and decoding to reduce the coding bit rate.

1. There's deep learning (content detection/recognition, GAN, video overcommitment/superframe, depth model compression, etc.) Video codec (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, and AI video codec) Ph.D. in AI, computer, mathematics, communication engineering, etc. with relevant background, having published papers in top academic journals or conferences, and having relevant competition winning experience is preferred.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Next Generation Intelligent CDN Research

Research on Intelligent Content Distribution Network

HUAWEI CLOUD CDN distributes content from origin servers to acceleration nodes close to users, resolving Internet congestion and improving user access response speed and success rate. Currently, the CDN has thousands of nodes worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In the 5G and IoT era, Internet traffic continues to grow massively, posing great technical challenges to the CDN architecture and algorithms. The algorithm innovation lab focuses on the architecture and algorithm design of the next-generation CDN and optimizes CDN cache, traffic scheduling, network protocols, and codec technologies to provide optimal user experience, continuously improve resource utilization, and provide high-speed, stable, and energy-saving content delivery services worldwide.

1. Research the intelligent CDN technology for ultimate experience, including the data-driven CDN traffic scheduling and caching model.
