Huawei Cloud Unveils AI-Native Cloud, Becoming the Preferred Cloud of Turkish Leading Enterprises

[Istanbul, Türkiye, October 10, 2024] - Today, Huawei Cloud hosted the Huawei Cloud Summit Türkiye near the Golden Horn of the Bosporus, gathering nearly 1,000 government officials, business leaders, and ecosystem partners to discuss industry digital transformation and Türkiye's digital future.

The First Public Cloud in Türkiye: A 12-Fold Growth in One Year Post-Launch

Launched in Türkiye in July 2023, Huawei Cloud has become the first and only local public cloud provider. Over the past year, Huawei Cloud has become the preferred cloud for Turkish market leaders through local investment, technological innovation, industry development, global expertise, and ecosystem and talent support.

Adhering to the "In Türkiye, For Türkiye" strategy, Huawei Cloud has continuously invested in local cloud Regions and launched over 110 cloud services. In the past year, Huawei Cloud's business in Türkiye has grown 12-fold, serving more than 360 local customers, including leading enterprises in various sectors such as consortium, banking, retail, e-commerce, media, and entertainment.

To further bridge the digital divide and accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation of Turkish enterprises, Huawei Cloud, in the presence of Dr. Çetin Ali Dönmez, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology (MOIT), and Dr. Recep Kılınç, Vice President of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB), launched the "Cloud Acceleration Program for Digital Transformation". The program aims to provide USD6 million in resources over the next three years to support high-potential startups and bridge the technical gap in cloud migration and use for Turkish enterprises. It will also support startups in cloud innovation and business growth through dedicated technical support, marketing platforms, business resources, and cloud credits.

Huawei Cloud is committed to helping Turkish customers and partners seize AI opportunities by building an AI-native cloud with systematic innovations and Pangu-reshaped cloud services. With full-stack systemic innovation, "Cloud for AI" covers data centers, cloud platform architectures, and infrastructure services, enabling efficient and high-performance data preparation, training, inference, and application of foundation models. Huawei Cloud offers AI-native infrastructure, distributed database GaussDB, data-AI convergence, and Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5 for AI development. Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5 is a stable, secure full-stack solution for local data center deployment, helping local governments and large enterprises build AI and data sovereignty and accelerate intelligence.

In terms of AI for Cloud, Huawei Cloud combines Pangu models with Huawei's expertise and data in multiple fields, including product R&D, data governance, security, and service O&M. With Pangu, Huawei builds intelligence into cloud services such as Pangu weather model, AI video service, and AI knowledge management.

At this event, Huawei Cloud released three action plans at Türkiye: 1) Helps 100 customers migrate to the cloud smoothly through consulting, design, and migration support. 2) Provides all-round marketing, sales, and operations support to 100 partners to help them expand their business. 3) Supports 100 startups to innovate on the cloud.

Innovative technologies drive social progress and sustainable development. At the summit, Aka Dai, Director of Huawei Cloud Marketing, shared the stories of "Cloud for Good". These include building AI assistants to assist medical examination to detect rare diseases, predicting extreme weather conditions through AI to protect production and life, safeguarding the nature with cloud and AI, and accelerating cloud and AI talent cultivation. At the end, he announced the "Cloud for Good" initiative. Through innovative technologies such as cloud and AI, Huawei Cloud will work with local and global customers and partners to accelerate Türkiye's digital journey, focusing on low carbonization, healthcare, talent cultivation, and more. As a key participant in digital Türkiye ecosystem construction and talent cultivation, Huawei Cloud works with 30 universities to benefit more than 40,000 students through digital talent cultivation programs such as Seeds for the Future. The 2024 Huawei Developer Competition Europe was also unveiled at the summit with the theme "Spark Infinity" ,aiming to stimulate the innovation potential of developers.
